Business Development Manager – Middle East Region

Join a leading multinational FMCG Powerhouse as a Business Development Manager, where you will drive impactful growth and innovation across dynamic markets.

Role:

The primary objective of this role is to build, grow, and drive business in the assigned geography. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving targets and complementing market distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Ownership: Act as the Business Owner for the assigned markets. Support all distributors and manage the sale of our products by providing a central point of contact for guidance on contract templates, import processes, duties, taxes, local regulations, customs, and licensing requirements.
  • Sales Expertise: Serve as a Sales Expert for markets with local distributors but no local legal entity present.
  • Portfolio Expansion: Drive portfolio expansion through assortment solutions.
  • Market Design: Work within markets to design new models and unlock opportunities in terms of consumer groups (e.g., ethnic, religious minorities) and channels (e.g., travel retail, health & well-being).
  • Planning and Forecasting: Plan and forecast sales at the brand and SKU level, sharing and implementing these plans with the help of the distributor team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Growth Setting: Establish growth strategies in emerging markets and channels, working with local distributor teams for frontend delivery.
  • Business Performance: Drive business performance, growth, and profitability in distributor markets.
  • Revenue Development: Identify and develop new revenue opportunities in channels, geographic markets, portfolios, and GTM partners.
  • Partner Identification: Identify and develop potential GTM partners.

Key Tasks:

  • Distributor Management: Manage distributors, joint business planning, and execution.
  • Market Positioning: Build strong market positions by identifying new opportunities and growth areas, and work with Distributor Managers to manage end-to-end implementation from idea to launch.
  • Relationship Building: Support distributor markets in identifying, developing, and defining strong business relationships with GTM partners and e-commerce platforms. Develop Key Performance Indicators for distributor markets.
  • Annual Planning: Consolidate annual plans and hold markets accountable for driving growth, profitability, and increasing market share.

Flexibility for This Role (Working Model, Mobility):

  • Full-time role.
  • Travel will be required at various points throughout the business cycle.

Skills and Experience:

Must Haves:

  • Commercial degree, preferably in sales and marketing.
  • At least 5 years of working experience, including 2-3 years in an FMCG business at a managerial level, with a focus on business development, distributor management, and managing cross-functional teams. Proven track record of topline growth and bottom-line results.
  • Language Requirements: Proficiency in English and the local language.
